The kit sounds really great! I can't stick to just one brand or whatever for makeup. I can't be a minimalist. I've tried. I can't. So there. Which brings me to my latest obession...
I'm still having a hard time with my undereye area and the browbone area. They're still dry and flaky. Not irritated and red at least but I'm still afraid of eyeshadow and liner. I've discovered my eye makeup remover does irritate me a teensy little bit. It normally doesn't but I'm guessing my skin is more sensitive right now. So I'm still wearing only mascara. I can wash that away with just water so it's not irritating.
It's been over three weeks since I've last worn eyeshadow and that has me wanting to revise my stash. I have something like 50 shadows. I kid you not. I am counting quads as 4 shadows and all but still. It's a phenomenal amount. And I was wanting a few more shadows too! So I've been thinking of the stash and wanting to reduce it. Then, I realized that I've tried to do this several times. I'll start by pretending I don't have some shadows. I'll want to see how I get on without these seemingly unnecessary shadows. But then, a day will come up when I absolutely need one of those shadows for a specific look. And so and so forth until I really need all my shadows. Pathetic, I know.
Going through my stash again though, my goal will be to get rid of a few things (not just shadows but they're what I'm concentrating on). Maybe a total of 10 shadows? I don't want to be too ambitious here :) I'm going to need to use this blog to discuss it though. I'm thinking of concentrating on a few things at a time. Why? Because I don't have the time to go through 50 shadows at once!
Today: my Urban Decay stuff. An easy one because I know I'm keeping it all. It consists of a lipgunk in Gash which I'm completely in love with (can be used sheerly for a very subtle look but can be very dramatic too; also love the taste). Also in the stash is a face case. That has 4 shadows, 4 lip products, and a blush. The 4 shadows are X, Roach, Midnight Cowboy, and Polyester Bride. I wouldn't purchase Polyester Bride or Midnight Cowboy because of the glitter fallout problem (gets all over the place!) but I will be able to make good use of the small quantities in the palette. X and Roach however, I would definitely purchase. X is a warm frosty pink and Roach is a warm frosty brown. In fact, Roach may be the best dark brown in my kit. The lip products are Gash lipstick, Biker lipgunk, Paranoid lipgunk, and Carney gloss. The only one I wouldn't repurchase is Paranoid. Gash is just such a great red. Pinky on me so it might fuchsia on those given to fuchsia-ing but I love it. Bright cool colours light up my face. Biker is a great beige and I have nothing like it. Carney is a very sheer pink with glitter. That leaves the blush. I'd repurchase it if it weren't for the fact that I'll probably never use up the whole thing. It's also very similar to Nars Orgasm (X is more pink and more pigmented). I can't justify having both and I can't get rid of the Nars (more on that when I get to the Nars stash).
So keeping all the UD stuff. Isn't much of a reduction of the stash, is it? Just you wait till I get to Nars and MAC! I've already figured out what might leave my stash...
