I started this site sometime around 2000. Since then, I went on to co-found thebroadroom.net, which now hosts not only this site, but also The Lipstick Page forum that was my first Internet beauty board love.

I've debated about maintaining this site. It is my original beauty site. But I am not sure that I will have time to do everything.

For now it's likely that I will simply go through and update the HTML and overall look of Josephine's Fans of...

This page was written by fans of Internet beauty boards such as thelipstickpage.com, makeupalley.com, and faceonline.com. It is an attempt to archive some of the beauty board experience.

So, what is this experience, exactly? At first blush (sorry), these message boards are open forums for women to exchange beauty knowledge. They are the first forums of their kind, since all beauty advice widely available before originated from cosmetics companies, or was at least filtered through them.

Beauty board fans' posts are not affiliated with cosmetics manufacturers. These posts are uncensored, unapologetic, glorious praise or vehement diatribe. Finally--useful beauty tips!!!!!

But, the board experience is more than just product rants, raves and reviews. These forums have created communities in their own right. I hope to capture some of the flavor of these communities, for the reference and enjoyment of rabid cosmetiholics everywhere.
