Well-known labels... Frankie B: Famous for their impossibly low-cut—sometimes 3 or 4 inch rise—jeans, these are the jeans you wear out to a club. Loved by Carmen Electra and Jennifer Lopez. Great cut and very flattering—but not for the shy. Confidence is needed. Also, the sizes run small, so be sure to order correctly. The jeans can range from insane to demure, and as always, try your clothing on in a store—probably a Neiman Marcus—if you can, before buying them.
This is from their Fall 2003 Collection: Five-pocket boot cut jean and turtleneck sweater. Very demure, comparatively, though note the crazy low rise. One tip: a little stretch in your pants makes all the difference. They’ll go back to their original shape when drying and they hug your body more as well, without sagging in the butt in an uncomely manner. Earl Jeans: These are the original cult jeans; so many swear by them, it’s insane. However, the inseam on these are also long, so unless you have long legs, (you could, technically, hem them, which frankly does not look half as good) you’re better off trying some of the other jeans listed here. However, heels will also do the trick! =) These have a great cut, very flattering, and come in so many different styles. The original Earl Jean: 55 Original Lowrise in Rainy Days.Seven for All Mankind: This is the most popular of the trendy jeans. Comes in dozens of styles, I like the Milan Creased Jeans the best—most subtle. They made the distressed and creased look popular. One thing about them that I don’t like is that most of their jeans aren’t very subtle in their creasing and sand-blasting. I like mine to look more natural, as if they have been worn for years, so I tend to think that Seven overdo that aspect. Other than that, they are great jeans, that will last a long time, thus worth the 100+, but more commonly, 120+, it costs. These are the Stretch “A” Pocket Jeans with the Milan Crease.Up and coming labels... Citizens of Humanity: I am in love with these, well, a specific pair, Rigid Ingrid in Pacific. They’re subtle with their creasing and sandblasting and they look sooo good on. ![]() ![]() Rigid and Stretch Ingrid, respectively, in Pacific. Blue Cult: These are the ‘it’ jeans of Hollywood. Every celebrity is wearing them, there’s even a style that’s been dubbed, ‘the Gywneth’ (because she loves them so much). My favorite is the butt lifter, in antique.Miss Sixty: This is a line that’s very geared towards teens and party girls. Often with fabulously overdone traits, such as extremely sandblasted or a huge sewn on belt buckle, these are not your ‘classic’ jeans. Distressed denim jeans.Paper Denim & Cloth: Details are hand-sewn, pockets handset, shaped differently for each size, individually hand-finished and then numbered. They emphasize the natural appeal of denim, rather than a gimmicky wash trend (excellent, btw). Production is kept small and back pockets anonymously bare. The result: simply great fitting jeans with a natural worn-in look, appealing to a customer who wants individual, high-quality jeans. ![]() PDC Tsunami Jean Jeans for your type... Leggy?
