Thank you! Compliments always make me ridiculously happy... I *think* the mod look is 60's. Not sure. I'm no fashion expert. Essentially, it's bright colours in blocks. Not prints. Knee high boots with rather chunky heels and more rounded toes. Opaque tights, sometimes in colour. Miniskirts and dresses and turtlenecks. Basically, it shows a lot of leg but covers you up on top. I saw a picture of a model dressed up mod-style and she had a white turtleneck, a royal blue miniskirt, orange tights and I forget what colour boots. White or black I think. It's a rather young looking style but I think a woman of any age can pull it off if her legs look good. I will probably do this look with black tights and black boots to keep my legs as long as possible.
Oh, I absolutely cannot do 80's fashion! I grew up during the 80's and I loved it as a child. I mean, what little girl wouldn't? Plenty of colour, lace, makeup... But now, I find it just so.... not subtle! It's got the tackiness of wearing all your jewelry at once. I don't know. I do like the Flashdance look with the leg warmers and all but only for Halloween :) 70's stuff used to be hard for me too (especially as a teenager) because I saw it in my photo albums. It didn't look so good. The updated version looks a bit better. Or maybe it's just the retro look that's cool... Anyhoo...
Thongs. For Carol's jeans, they'd also need to be low-rise because you especially don't want a thong showing. Too trashy. I do wear thongs every so often but you really have to find the ones that feel comfortable to you. They're excellent for cutting down on panty lines if that's the type of thing that worries you. May be too much information but for comfort, I prefer G-strings to thongs. They have less material in the back so you don't feel it there as much. I just like to keep a variety of underwear for different situations. Must say that for travel, nothing has ever beaten my microfiber underwear. It's what dries the fastest so I can handwash it and it'll be dry by the next morning. Very important for travel...
