Hummm...sounds very good. Good strategic planning.
I have been thinking about it on and off. I could do with a new skirt one of these days.
I think that because--same reasons. A single skirt can be used with many existing pieces. It can be trendy to make the entire outfit look fresh. And if you get sick of it :) well it is just one piece.
Just recently I had to dress up for something. Well I hit the closet...I have loads of stuff there from my office days.
I found this suit I had bought...it had to be seven or more years ago? I got it from Pier One back when they still sold clothes. It's a sort of beige, brown color, it's just a rayon-cotton blend of some sort. It has a shortish skirt and an embroidered, short jacket...sort of ethnic looking.
Well, it didn't need ironing and I was in a rush. I put this with an off white sleeveless washable silk mock-turtleneck, no stockings (it was super hot) and sandals.
It was the first time I think, that I felt truly comfortable dressed up. I know that sounds strange. I mean I had to dress a certain way depending on what sort of job I was doing but it never felt natural up until now.
It did cross my mind that having a new skirt (and preferably one that doesn't need ironing much) would make life simple. :) Because then, all you need to find is a top.
Not sure yet what I have in mind...
