Ok, I have a rant about ponchos. It's not that I don't like them. In fact I love them! My mother made me one with a hood when I was a child. It was grey and very pretty. Not very practical with a backpack but I felt oh so pretty in it... For 15 years after that poncho, I didn't have one. When ponchos came back in style a few years ago (anyone remember that? I'm thinking at least 5 years ago because it was before I found my boyfriend), I didn't even get one. However, last year, in Peru, I got one. It's pretty: grey with white llamas on it. Made with alpaca wool but a bit flimsy (hey, it was cheap). Last Fall, I wore it a few times. I was the only one with a poncho. I liked being unique. Now, this year, everyone and their dog is wearing a poncho and I just look like a follower, arrrrrgggghhh! Oh well, I'll get over it. In a year or two, people will forget ponchos and I'll be unique again. There'll be a period where I'll be "passee" but then, I'll just be unique again. In the meantime, I'll get some ponchos on sale for later, for when they're not in style anymore...
