Are you sure you're not trying to lose too much weight?
I suppose American standards might be "meatier," but I never think that much about trying to stay the same size I was back when. I did change sizes. I used to wear small in everything (not extra small, just small) and now I wear medium. I can't wear small size shirts anymore.
But that's it; that is the size I am now. I could push it up if I wanted to, that would also eat up a certain block of time I no longer have.
So...I think the thing is to really figure out what weight works for you. You shouldn't be going up and down. You shouldn't feel fat if you're not. I don't know how to put it but I feel it should not be an issue in your life. If you really need to lose weight then by all means lose it--but if you're trying to fit into your 16-year-old's clothes, that may not be practical. If you're taking birth control pills, that's going to dump on a few pounds too.
The only real exercise I'm doing now, besides housework (as needed, it is not recreational for me!), is going to the water park. I'm not a great swimmer but there's always something to do...you're moving around and swimming for 30- to 45-minute periods the entire day.
They have season passes here that pay for themselves if you visit more than once. The sun is pretty brutal but so what, everyone slathers on sunblock and wears hats.
I remember you mentioned a water park but I had the impression it was far away?
