Above: The glittery eyeshadow par excellence, Urban Decay, and a sparkly lip from Revlon.Shimmers , no matter how ostentatious, should not have particles that are visible to the naked eye (until you get close). But when the particles of a frost become so coarse that they are visible, perhaps it is better to call this finish sparkly , or even coarser, glittery . When the sparkle is visibly different from the base shade, and sparsely distributed, you will sometimes hear that it has flecks .
