Beauty Notes: Keira Knightley for Coco Mademoiselle

Posted by Dain, Friday, October 05, 2007 1:27 AM (Eastern)

Keira Knightley is the new face of Coco Mademoiselle, and while I am not a fan of Knightley, she is the perfect flesh-and-bone Ms. Coco Mademoiselle, the epitome of garden-variety pretty, poshified but relatable. The kind of thing that's just destined for popularity.

Er... I mean flesh-and-blood.

I don't normally rag on people for being too thin...when you're young, sometimes you just tend to be thin. But I think Keira Knightley is too thin. It seems to me her "hire-ability" increased when her weight decreased...I just don't like it, the idea of hiring the thinnest girl in the room, making 'em out-thin each other.

I think she's kinda horsey faced. You know, all cheekbones and pout. She's also really annoying, I think--she's that sort of celebrity that you're just like, why? she ain't drop dead, she's just pretty, and not really... that pretty. She's just a very, very lucky high school queen bee or something--that kind of pretty. It's more like, she's good at being popular, being likeable? Like, oh, I dunno, Jennifer Aniston, or Sarah Jessica Parker.

I liked her in "Bend It Like Beckham" and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. As a model, I don't find her that good, honestly...but as an actress, she is compelling.
