As excellent as The Perfect Pump may be, I find it useful to swap a flirtier, light-hearted shoe when the days grow longer and warmer, to accord with the more relaxed, breezy clothing of summer. It may be as simple as switching to an open-toed pump (bottom second left) in white or a down-to-earth leather knot sandal (bottom right), but the favorite pair in my own personal collection is the olive espadrilles on the upper left: they've walked everywhere with a small collection of cheerful sundresses. Though heavy on the feet (which you get used to, it tones calf muscles), it is surprisingly sturdy and comfortable to walk in.
One pair of heels (aforementioned) and one pair of flats, such as the charming gold-leaved thong above (more interesting than Havaianas, anyway) is sufficient for me.Labels: an array ecumenical
