Posted by Dain, Friday, November 09, 2007 12:46 AM (Eastern) ![]() If summer shoes are all about fun, rain and snow demand shoes of utilitarian nature. A good pair of boots is a durable and unfailing choice (if expensive). Not booties, these are for leggy fashion victims: it is the rare individual who can pull them off. But classic boots are for every woman, consider ankle boots (bottom right) if knee-length overpowers your delicate mind, or you have difficulty finding a pair that accommodates thick calves. A word to the petite: boots shorten, period. Wear them under pants, or, consider leather shoes, like those on the upper left. I found the pairing of old-fashioned styling and crackly silver amusing, but a more down-to-earth individual (which I am not) may prefer Doc Martens or even sneakers (also included), but fabric shoes will allow the weather to leak into your extremities. I'll admit I'm salivating over $1500 white/black snakeskin stiletto boots, but... its grows exponentially impractical with every modifier (price, color, material, heel). Much more amenable is the one third from the left. Suede, to be sure, but that is workable. Labels: an array ecumenical |
