Posted by Dain, Sunday, January 13, 2008 8:02 AM (Eastern) ![]() Looking forward to spring, here is a classically pretty affair. Pretty in pink, as they say, and indeed pink is the most common shade in the cosmetic world, for it meanders all over the face with great effect, on lips and cheeks and eyes, and it is the rare color that can do so without impunity. It is just an eternally flattering color on skintones of all kinds, though the darker complexioned may prefer plums for more substance. Nearly a neutral, pink is. Rose and chocolate make a classic pairing, with a little beige for highlight, as in the image above. It seems to add a diffused warmth to the skin, almost like a tan, except that these colors would virtually disappear on a tan. For a little more flavor, you can substitute gold and plum instead. Pink also makes a beautiful backdrop for vivid liners, such as violet or olive. It looks very sleek, rather than sweet, with silver and navy. For a sharper look entirely, apply pink on the inner half of the lid and sky blue on the outer, and black liquid/gel liner, winged, for the final dramatic touch. ![]() Labels: lookbook |
