Ok, I am not a manicure expert. I bite my nails, so no polish lasts long. Nevertheless, I like Essie polishes, and Nail Envy makes a great, albeit expensive base. My topcoat of choice is usually Seche Vite, which is so quick drying, it seems, that the stuff thickens into an unusable sludge before you're even halfway through the bottle. It is an expensive product to keep replacing before its time, so I tried this $1.99 version from N.Y.C. after reading rave reviews. It is not as good as Seche Vite, it is not as shiny or protective, as it is a thinner liquid. Nevertheless, I found a way to get around this by applying two coats instead of one, and it's not particularly time-consuming given that it dries quite quickly. The two coats give it a lovely thick, vinyl shine (as the name implies), and at this price I am very content.
