To celebrate the return of the sun, here are five things that I especially covet, according to this theme: luxury attenuated into ethereality. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WATCH I've been watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof obsessively. All summer and emotions, initially the characters may grate on you, but ultimately they surprise you with their poignancy. My choice of the Carine Gilson slip shown above was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's. LISTEN Motown rocks, 'nuff said. "Sunny" by Bobby Hebb is a bit like walking through a hot city street, with all the summer sounds all around you: kids shrieking from the town pool, cars honking, people chatting on their doorsteps. READ In Frank Herbert's sci-fi classic, Dune, you'll find tightly wound politics on a dessicated, spice-laden world. You'll get thirsty just reading.
