LA BELLE DAME SANS MERCI (Archive): January 2005

A place where I will put stuff that doesn't neatly fit into any other catagories and where I will do my best to keep bad spelling and typos down to a bare minimum. :)

ooops.
Its actually called the RCA Dome.
hehe, I grew up with it being the Hoosier Dome and have never quite adjusted to the name change.
And it seats aprox 58,000, so yeah, thats just over double the population of my town.
Now I'm curious to compare the population of Indianapolis to other major US cities. Indy, to me, is mind-blowingly enormous and expensive, but I think its just a blip on the map compared to places like New York and L.A.

WWWHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MONSTER JAM ROCKED!!!!!

We had a blastin' good time!
It.
Was.
Awesome.

We're plannin' on goin' back next year.
It was loud and outrageous and a screamin' good time.

Sold out crowd at the HoosierDome, it was shoulder to shoulder people. And when those trucks got revin' and the crowd was on their feet cheerin' and whoopin' and yellin', it was FUN!
Even my 16 yearold (who didn't want to go along at all) ended up having a good time.

Now I'm off to Google just how many people the Hoosier Dome seats. I'm sure its about double the entire population of my town.....

I think Discovery Channel should have a chopper build-off between Orange County Choppers and West Coast Choppers. Jesse James vs. Teutuls. Air the programs and have viewers vote online. Americas Bike, truely.

I like OCC bikes but I loooooove Jesse, his outlook on things, his atitude.

I think Vinnie and Rick are the real stars of American Chopper. Quiet, unassuming, hardworkers, don't go lookin' for the limelight, my kinda men.

"Begin this recipe by placing a roast in your crackpot....."

We have a very nice winter storm going on outside. They've been warning about it for the past three days. I do think the warnings were far more dire than what actually occurred but we do have a goodly amount of fresh snow fall this morning. I've not yet ventured out to measure, but from the looks of it on the car and judging from how deep it was on my dogs legs, I'd say we got between 8-10 inches. The winds are supposed to pick up as the day progresses. If we do get the 20-30 mile an hour wind gusts that are called for then things shall get messy.

I started a loaf of bread last night before I went to bed. I'll need to get that finished. We'll have a fresh hot loaf for lunch or maybe afternoon snack. I found good olives AND (most exciting) a source that sells local, raw, organic, handmade cheese! Its lovely, lovely stuff!

I also need to start my supper in the crockpot. Tonight I am making Jamaican Jerk Pork Sandwiches. Start by seasoning a pork roast with Jamaican Jerk seasoning. Put in crockpot and squeeze a couple of limes in with it, maybe a wee bit of water too. Cook on low all day, till its falling apart tender. Remove from juice, shred. Serve on onion buns with provelone cheese slices, diced mango and mayo in which you mix in a little lime juice and finely diced red onion. DIVINE!!! I serve this with Jamaican beer (for the grownups) and sweet potato chips.

The next day you can take the leftover meat, and defatted juices from the crockpot mix them together with some cooked rice, can of tomatoes, can of black beans and a few extra shakes of jerk and maybe a squeeze of lime to make a kinda soupy-stewey bowl of yumminess.

I also plan to sort through some of the junk in our basement and re-evaluate my makeup stash.

I still don't know why Mozzilla won't let me log on to blogger. IE logs on just fine.

eeeshhh.
Its been awhile since I've posted. I've had major life crises the past 2 months.

My DH started getting depressed around his birthday (Nov. 19th) and it just got worse and worse as the winter holidays approached, culminating in him threatening suicide around Xmas time.

To make a really long story short, the worst has past and we seem to be back on track again. Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute to my blog and our lipstick forums once again.

We're under a winter storm warning here for tonight and tomorrow. I've got a bottle of red wine to finish up tonight and an entire bottle of white for tomorrow.
Its allllll good....
