Oh noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
I just called Macy's.
Get this--you know how you press 0 to talk to a human being? I got this...electronic operator.
Oh it starts out fine..."Please say the name of the department you want."
Actually I'm clueless as to which department I want. I bought an electric men's shaver last year. The blades need to be replaced. Ideally you should replace them every year. But which department exactly is that? Men's? Men's accessories? Electronics? Small appliances? Home?
I tried venturing a loud "Men's!" into the receiver. Of course I'm wondering at the same time, what the purpose of this poor electronic bastard device was...if I knew which department I wanted, wouldn't I have selected it from the menu in the first place?
The poor thing could not figure out what I wanted, so I was stuck, momentarily, within this endless loop, of it asking what I wanted, and me shouting out different department names in vain hopes of connecting, somehow, somewhere, to a person.
Finally I lost my patience and really started screaming some abusive language into the phone.
It was then...that the electronic operator asked...did that binary voice suddenly sound a tad timid?...if I wanted some help. If so, it said, please say "Help."
Naturally I yelled "Help!" into the phone, and that is how I got connected to a real live operator. A few seconds later, I was connected to the right department.
I hope the real operators can't hear what the electronic operators hear.

you are springgreen #00FF7F
Your dominant hues are cyan and green. Although you definately strive to be logical you care about people and know there's a time and place for thinking emotionally. Your head rules most things but your heart rules others, and getting them to meet in the middle takes a lot of your energy some days.
Your saturation level is very high - you are all about getting things done. The world may think you work too hard but you have a lot to show for it, and it keeps you going. You shouldn't be afraid to lead people, because if you're doing it, it'll be done right.
Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.
You are 'Silent Night'! You really enjoy Christmas, and you like your Christmases conventional. For you, Christmas is about family and traditions, and you rather enjoy the rituals of going to church at midnight and turning off the lights before flaming the plum pudding. Although you find Christmas shopping frustrating, you like the excitement of wrapping and hiding presents, and opening a single door on the Advent Calendar each day. You like the traditional carols, and probably teach the children to sing along to them. More than anyone else, you will probably actually have a merry Christmas.
Erm...this is actually my favorite Christmas carol. Uncanny, that.

Wow...one of those days where you come home and tell yourself to forget the day ever happened?
I should explain. I had to go to the City today (i.e. San Francisco).
Erm? Oh yeah. I used to live in San Francisco, for around ten years altogether, off and on since 1985.
San Francisco used to be...a beautiful city. It's nothing like that now. It's like a fruit that's rotted. I hardly ever go there...funny behavior for someone who lived there ten years.
What can I say? I went to this shop...it's a jewelry shop on Fillmore, I think you can find it. I don't think I've ever been treated so rudely...not at Saks, not at Neiman Marcus, not at Macys. Yeah maybe once at the downtown Woolworths back before Woolworths went broke. No. No, I've never actually been treated this rudely before, not even at the downtown Woollies.
I had actually shopped at that jewelry store about a year ago, maybe longer. The guy who was there before was very nice.
This guy...was almost a parody of a snobby saleswoman. He was so freakishly rude I almost didn't know whether to be offended. I'm still scratching my head actually (this was earlier on today). It's closer to the Museum of the Hard to Believe...surreal.
Nevertheless, they can keep their overpriced junk. What can I say...

I am very, very sleepy.
The weather...Washington State, only brighter. :) I remember being momentarily blinded by weak, watery sunlight over there, one winter.
I need to update our company website today. Why does that seem so boring? The only thing I need to do is change some prices. I have an applet that does that...reads the stuff off a text file and converts it to 5 (I think) sorted HTML pages. So it's a matter of editing the text file, running the applet, and uploading the files.
Then, I should change the prices in autotrader.com. Less work but more dull.

Stressing out as usual...health insurance.
It's amazing. Ours went from, year 2002, including hospitalization...to, year 2003, charging $200 admission fee. Now, year 2004, it's $200 per day for hospitalization. All within the span of three years...from free to $200/day.
Took a look around...the others aren't much better. Different forms of the same crap.
Anyone have Blue Shield HMO or PPO? Any good? Better than Kaiser? Is there anything better than Kaiser?
