Wow, it's freezing cold in here. Let me go get a sweater.

Okay I'm back. Yes. I did say I was working on a script. Here it is:

The Lipstick Page

The forum script is a paid PHP script. Very well organized, easy to configure. I like it. Worth the price. You will need PHP of a certain version and mySQL.

The Image Library script is a free script, Gallery. If you want to use the EXIF data though, you will need command-line access to your server (or else a sweetheart of a host to compile the jhead files for you). I couldn't get it to work with a pre-compiled exe file because we're on FreeBSD. (There are Linux ones that work, apparently.)

I'm still going through the FAQ on the forums.

FAQ

That is very, very slow going. I'm first of all figuring out what needs to be covered in the FAQ. I didn't like the default FAQ too much...lots of good information, but, generic--necessarily so. I think every webmaster needs to write her/his own FAQ anyway. It should be customized to the users.

Anyhoo...that's all that's going on right now. I'm very sleepy right now. I crashed out at around 10:00 last night and then woke up around midnight and couldn't sleep till about 4:00 AM and had to get up at 7:00 to drive people around.

Caught a little bit of Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. What is it with Colin Quinn? To me he's so, so sexy. sigh It's a good show. Really. Check it out.

That's about it in the fabulous life of Josephine.

Well good for you! (I hope you don't mind me replying in my blog, that tiny comment box drives me nuts sometimes.)

I think you should have a night off. Every week. Even the crappiest job, they work you six days a week, not seven.

There's a reason for it actually. I worked seven days a week once--for a month. It was only a month but I was going out of my mind toward the end.

It wasn't the work itself. I was doing data entry and proofreading for a system conversion. We always worked more than eight hours per day. It was the sameness that was getting to me. The same tired faces, every day without a break.

So--how did the sloppy joes come out? :)

The spaghetti was goo-ood. I make a nice one. You get sausages...Italian sausages are good, or Trader Joe's sausages.

You cut the sausages up and take the casing off--so you have little meatballs.

You do the regular stuff--finely chop an onion or two, mince a clove of garlic or however many you want.

Cook the onions in olive oil...straight extra-virgin olive oil works great...until they're nice and--cooked. Add in the garlic and cook some more. Add in a little turmeric. Just enough to color things slightly (too much is bitter).

Then add in the meatballs...cook those also until they're browned. Drain off whatever fat you can.

Then--Barilla spaghetti sauce. I'm serious. It's the best.

I put in that, some wine, and a can of tomatoes (chopped is easiest to work with).

That's really it. I'd probably add more herbs to it but the kids prefer it not too herby or spicy.

You cook it until it's cooked down some and thickened and the meatballs have cooked through.

I remember your recipes on Green Choi...mmmm! mmmm! Ugh! I've gotten lazy. I'll have to cook more even if it's relatively simple stuff.

'later!

Hmmm...I hate February too. I hate winter overall.

I used to like winter actually...especially when it snowed. It next to never snowed in Norfolk, but it did in Richmond. I used to go to Richmond a lot, I always liked Richmond.

The summers were so hot and humid, it was nice to put on sweaters, coats, boots...fashion clothing :) The layered look was very big in the 70's, and we couldn't wear anything remotely layered once it got hot.

But now, winter to me just means cold and dark.

lol! I can agree that the Superbowl/boob was staged. For whatever reason. What I don't get, is why it was such a big deal. I mean if it had not been made a big deal of, I wouldn't have even known it happened (since I don't watch football).

I rather like Janet Jackson and found the whole thing surprising. Someone on Tough Crowd (I watch Tough Crowd, it's a late-night comedy show) said that she was trying to divert the negative attention away from her brother, Michael Jackson. I mean he said it as a joke. But who can say?

It's off and on sunny today. Everything is green here. It's dry the rest of the year (supposedly anyway) so, once the rainy season starts, everything goes green...not the trees I mean, but the ground.

Some calla lilies are poking up in the back.

I also feel as if I'm hibernating. I shouldn't. The lemon trees are full of lemons. Yes, Californians have lemon and orange trees in their yards. And palm trees.

Anyone watch those "Bands Reunited" things on VH1? It's kind of cool.

I missed the Romeo Void one...just caught the end really...but I saw the entire one for The Alarm.

Now who were The Alarm?

I was never a die-hard Alarm fan, but I did rather like them. I have two of their records...Strength and Declaration...which I've played many times.

The Alarm were not really compared to U2 although if you look back, they have a similar appearance. U2 originated some things but not everything. There were several bands around at the time...The Alarm, Big Country, even INXS...that were doing similar things at the same time. It was U2 that ended prevailing but let's not forget that they emulated some things from other bands.

Unlike U2, The Alarm were more secular. I never thought of them as a Christian band. They were also more political than U2, by far.

Anyhow the reunion was really cute. The funny thing...they find all the members of the original band, interview them individually, then put them all together in the same room...then they have a one-time concert (getting the original fans to show up as well).

The funny thing is that they sounded almost exactly the same as they did in the early 80's. Not quite as...young. But musically, the same.

Unfortunately they don't show the entire concert...in this case just "68 Guns" and "Blaze of Glory." (I thought "Tell Me" or "Absolute Reality" would have been good to throw in, oh well.)

And...the nice part too. None of them was found living in baronial splendor in Los Angeles. Nor was any found cradling a crack pipe or stumbling out of a rehab center. Apparently, after the group disbanded, each had gone on to live a normal life.

Anyhow. If you liked 'em then, you'll like 'em now. If you can catch the reunion show it's well worth it.
