Everybody, but everybody, seems to recommend this color. And it is a great color. It looks almost black in the tube, but goes on a super sheer berry tint. The texture is more of a gloss than the lipstick texture you're used to and there's a faint scent. It's something you could wear everyday.

I owned this lipstick a long time ago and never repurchased it but I should. It's very dark in the tube but goes on a lovely sheer berry-red. It's a lovely YLBB colour, like you just ate berries. It's not obvious colour (my husband thought I wasn't wearing anything until I showed him the difference between that and my natural lip colour) and it feels quite moisturizing on. It doesn't last long but it's easy to apply without a mirror.
Pros:
Sheer formula makes it an appealing, low-risk color in the deeper part of a wine palate.
Cons:
Coverage didn't work for me.
Well, here's proof that the diversity of human beings is such that there is no "universal" color. Black Honey is often touted as an everyone, everywhere kind of lipstick, but I have generally bad luck with it. Clinique's Almost Lipstick formula is very sheer, light and moist (by feel, it is nice). Black Honey is a deep wine or raisin color, and in its sheerness, it fails to work on my highly-pigmented rosy lips. I either get a streaky application, or it doesn't cover to the edges properly (and the color is way too sheer to wear with a lip liner), or it looks as though the color is sitting on top of my lips instead of going into and flattering them. Most people do, however, love this color, so if you're wondering, ask a Clinique consultant to let you test it, or inquire whether they have any GWP sample tubes (that's what I did).
