UPDATE: Whether it was that I had been using the products exclusively for a long time, or because of a change in water quality, the products stopped working. I blame the silicones (which are lightweight, but still silicones). It weighed my hair down, and made them dull. I've switched to the cleaner formulations of Nature's Gate, and probably will not try this again. And, anyway, I dislike the scent very much (which wouldn't have stopped me before, when the products worked).

Garnier makes great hair products (who needs salon brands?), but the Long & Strong system has got to be my favorite of the line. Small wonder, my favorites from the other Garnier line (Ultra Doux, not available in the US) are also targeted at long hair. Fructis does it with more finesse, more technology, though I prefer the cream&vanilla scent of the Ultra Doux. The scent of this... well, I'm just not a fan of fruity scents.

This is a fairly thick, creamy sort of shampoo, and it's gentle. It doesn't leave my hair with that stripped, squeaky clean feeling, which is nice in its own way, but disastrous for my dry, colored hair. It's gentle enough to use every day, but it doesn't fall short on its cleaning capabilities.
