This is, perhaps obviously, a rose scent. But it's not pure rose. To me personally that's a good thing, because I'm not attracted to pure rose perfumes.
(I've also tried Annick Goutal Rose Absolue, and for rose connoisseurs, it would be the superior scent: deep, pure, heirloom roses, worth the higher price tag.)
Ce Soir... is more a gentle, floral scent, with enough rose so that the rose note comes to the fore. It lasts respectably well on me, say a full work day. Not the longest-lasting scent you ever tried, but decent.
It's also quite natural, rather than chemical, smelling. All in all it would make a nice gift for someone who likes rose or natural floral scents, not too overpowering.
