Welcome to The Lipstick Page Forums. We hope you enjoy
your experience here.
By using this site, you agree to be bound by our Terms of Service, which
are written in the
Rules and
Guidelines
sections below. The moderators group may make changes to the Terms of Service
at any time. As a courtesy, an announcement of such changes will be posted.
The Lipstick Page Forums is a privately owned, funded
and operated website. Violations of the Terms of Service written in this and in the
Guidelines section, will result in review of that person's posting privileges by
the moderators group.
Such review may result in action being taken, at the sole discretion of the
moderators group, and may include a written warning, suspension or termination, without
notice, of the user's posting privileges.
- Participants may not use the Forums or other features of the site
to post advertisements or solicitations of any kind.
This includes using your sig line to promote
commercial websites, products, ebay auctions, etc.
Any and all exceptions to this are subject to approval
of the moderators and must be pre-approved prior to
posting.
- Participants shall maintain an atmosphere of respect toward fellow
participants and moderators. This includes refraining from posting troll posts. A troll post
may be defined as a post whose only purpose is to cause trouble on
the board.
- Spam and posts that do not maintain an atmosphere of respect toward
fellow participants and moderators, will be promptly deleted.
- Posts that consist of an inflammatory or hostile message, whether
intentional or accidental, are subject to review and possible action by
the moderators group.
- Participants shall not post any material that is protected by
copyright, trademark or other proprietary right - without the express
permission of the owner of such copyright - or that contains personal
phone numbers or addresses.
-This web site does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of the
material posted to the Forums or other features of the site or bear any responsibility for any
loss, damage, or other liabilities caused by any posted material.
The Lipstick Page Forums' purpose is to provide a relaxing,
fun, inclusive environment for all users. To make this
possible, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Please do not post discussions about religion and
politics on the boards. These subjects may be
discussed privately.
The Lipstick Page Forums are all-ages forums. Do not
post adult subject material on the boards.
Private gift or package exchanges should be PM'ed.
Please do not post in ALL CAPS. This is considered shouting. ALL CAPS posts
are subject to deletion.
The Lipstick Page Forums requires registration in order to
post in the forums and use other forum features, add products and reviews to the Online Beauty Reviews section,
and upload pictures to the Image Library.
Registration is free and requires a valid email address.
To register a new account, click the
New User
link here or on the menu bar at the top of the forum pages.
A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you type in.
The default setting for the postlist (main page of each forum)
is Expanded mode.
This means that the main posts are displayed along with a threaded list of all replies.
You may change this so that only the main topic posts show
(Collapsed mode). This can give you
all of the recently active posts at a glance. It also loads the postlist pages faster since
the list of replies is not loaded.
There is a link on the postlist pages to toggle between Expanded and Collapsed
modes. Look directly under the menu bar at the top of the postlist page, for the set of
Post, Previous, Index, Next, Collapse/Expand links.
To change your own default setting to Collapsed mode, go to My Home on the
menu bar. Scroll down to "Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, colors..."
and click Edit. Change "Default view" to Collapsed Threads. Click the submit button
at the bottom of the screen to save changes.
Likewise, the default setting for reading posts is Threaded mode.
When you open the post, the replies are displayed as a list of links below the post.
If you would like to change this setting so that the bodies of the replies
are shown, you may toggle the Flat/Threaded link at the top of the
screen.
You may change this setting in your account as well. Again, go to My Home, Edit
"Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, colors..." Change the
"Default display mode" box to Flat mode. Click the submit button to save changes.
If you wish to reply to a post, open the post and look
for the set of Edit, Reply and Quote links at its top (to the right of the subject
heading).
If you're viewing posts in "flat" mode, you'll note that each individual post
in the display has its own set of Edit, Reply and Quote links.
Click the Reply link on the post you wish to reply to.
If you would like to quote the post in your reply, click Quote instead
of Reply.
You should get a screen in which to make your reply. If you've selected Quote,
the message body of the original post should appear inside the Post box.
There are a bunch of icons and graemlins and UBB tags and font colors.
These are all optional. You can make the post as is or you can play with the
different options if you wish to customize the post.
We do not have a spellchecker. You can choose to preview your post (recommended) or you can submit
it without previewing.
Users can edit their own posts up to 0336 hours (18 minutes) after they are made. Where the change is substantive, you should mark the post as edited so as to alert viewers to the changed content. For cosmetic changes it's better not to do so.
Products and reviews posted in the
Online Beauty Reviews section
fall under the same Terms of Service as posts in the discussion forums.
The Online Beauty Reviews section depends entirely on the integrity of its
reviews. Advertising or spam reviews will be promptly removed and the poster's
user account may be subject to review by the moderators group.
The Image
Library allows Lipstick Page
Forums members to upload and share pictures of beauty products, makeup looks,
friends and family, etc.
Images must be 100 KB or less in file size. The current
diskspace limit is 8,000 KB or 80 images at the maximum size. Hotlinking
images in The Image Library to ebay auctions is not allowed.
Images uploaded to The Image Library fall under the same Terms of Service as
posts in the discussion forums. Advertising or spam images will be promptly
removed and the poster's user account may be subject to review by the moderators group.
UBB code is similar to HTML code, except that it is limited to
formatting text, creating hypertext links, and creating smilies. All of the boards have been
configured to allow users to use UBB code inside their posts.
To use UBB code, click "Post" or "Reply" to open the screen for
creating posts. Look at the bottom of the "Post" box to find the Instant
UBB Code box.
