First, can I say that whenever I see or write "gym" I hear Homer Simpson in my head say "It's the GYME...." . That always cracks me up. I'm easily amused
Anyway. So I'm going back to the gym tonight after a 3-week absence. My problem is that I have *nobody* to motivate me. Nobody around me works out. I do have a friend at work with whom I discuss fitness and exercice (she works out regularly and is very fit) but she's pregnant now and she too lacks motivation . So I have to kick myself in the butt.
Nevertheless, I'm still planning on going back twice, or better, three times a week starting tonight. I have the membership and I hate to waste it. I usually do cardio and weight training to build up muscle. I sometimes fit in a class or two.
So I'm writing this to you all as a way to reinforce my motivation
Wish me luck!

Once you get to the gym, you'll remember how good it feels to workout and it will all be easier to go back the next time.
What motivates me to work out are all the action TV shows I watch - Alias, 24, Angel, Buffy... I have to keep up with Buffy so I can step in if she needs me!

I understand perfectly...there's nothing like a workout buddy.
I'm in the same shoes, so let's motivate each other!
If you're going to the gym tonight, then I'll do something today...for me that will involve the kids, so it'll be a walk of some sort.

Cool!
I did go last night. It was a bit hard since it'd been a while, but totally worth it. I felt pleasantly tired when I got home and this morning, I'm pleasantly sore I actually like that feeling. It will go away once I work out 3-4 times in a row, though.
So now you *have* to do something today . A walk with the kids sounds nice! Let me know how you did!
I'm going back to the gym tomorrow night. I *want* to go 3 times this week.
I was going to walk to the subway this morning (brisk 20 minute walk) but it was raining and I chickened out

I didn't get to go...always something comes up But I have not given up on getting some exercise some way...
We have to do a "leaf hunt" (one of my daughter's assignments) so we can do the "hike" (it's three block-long stairways) to get the leaves for it. I'll have to do that soon because the assignment is due soon
