If a scent has been discontinued for awhile, then I would pass on buying it because you don't know how it has been stored. Light and heat break down a fragrance. Sometimes it's just age. Usually scents from the discounters are okay if they are still available. It's the hard to find stuff that is apt to be off. For some reason Chanel no. 19 is particularly fragile.
