I remember when Stila was first big, but I was a teenager in Canada, pre-Sephora, and didn't have the money or the wherewithal to try it; I just read about it on alt.fashion (Luce lipstick and Kitten and Barefoot Contessa e/s were big, as I recall). So I don't really know what it was like. My personal experience with the brand has been decent, but not such as would inspire a lot of loyalty, and I don't think they're worth the retail prices they charge (luckily it's fairly easy to get the stuff discounted). I'm curious as to what you dislike about its current direction.
